Its supposed to be an AK-47 firing and expelling a round ... no it should not flash like that but i think its a cool effect XP

made in blender 2.64beta and rendered with luxrender

I modeled this off of my own SAKS-47 a more modernized variant of the AK-47 and is semi-automatic ... i used an SVG and technical drawings to get it as good as i can tho i believe the rear end is a bit to short
my SAKS-47 has a plastic grip and handle and also has a folding stock unlike the original AK-47 with solid wood stock and all of that ... so i had to use images from the net to get it ... i used enameled wood at first but i did not like the look so i used new non-enabled wood for this
i also only have modern clips and i could not find a good reference for an old clip so i just modeled a newer style clip
ALSO mine has rails and a holographic sight SOOO i had to use references to get the iron sights on there

smoke was simulated in blender and the round was made in blender as well and stuck on here ... probably not to scale

the paint job is similar to what i did to mine ... on mine i first sanded the paint off and to the point where it got a shine than i painted over it in matte black than scratched scratches in to it with a pick and coated it in clear coat and roughed that up a bit .... this gave a nice scratched silver on matte black look that i liked ... so i duplicated that on here by mixing 2 textures together

the bolt was an aluminum texture with a grungy matte texture over it ... wood was normal mapped

the background is just a grass part of one of my HDR images in my gallery with a lens blurr effect made in photoshop CS6

Nice! I think you should add some motion blur and make shadows a bit more softer, but other than that it is a really nice render

thanks allot! i have gotten quite a bit of feedback on mutable sites so i will most likely be updating this
maybe use an unbiased bidirectional path tracing to render it instead of the biased photon mapping that i did here

Cool! smoke effects add a nice touch. So does the crapes on the metal.
